Two things to watch

Here, watch these two videos. The first is a preview of the upcoming documentary “Gideon’s Army” and the second is a fun compilation of stupid reactions in Congress over the years.

The latter via Radley Balko.

    Hi Gideon,

I just discovered your blog, which looks great, and I will definitely follow it from now on. This post, in particular, is one I wanted to leave a comment about, because it links to the Op-Doc featured in the New York Times that highlights Travis Williams, a public defender from Georgia. I learned of Travis Williams from a recent segment on the show Democracy Now, and I was inspired that same day to write a song lyric about him. A day or two later my songwriting partner had composed music for it. It’s meant to be a folk song, in the tradition of Woody Guthrie. Perhaps you, and your readers, might like it. We plan to make a demo, with a vocal, soon but the melody on the simple instrumental track we have now can, in combination with reading the lyrics, more or less be followed. Here’s a link to the song track, including lyrics:

There is also some discussion about the lyrics, which you may also find interesting, at the following link:

    All the best,
    Michael McIntyre
