I mean you couldn’t tack on attempt to a completed crime and conspiracy to a single person crime. But yeah, specific and general intent are just different ways of saying “mens rea” and why do we even bother if that’s the case?

Other than that, “specific intent” as just struck me as another way of saying mens rea.

Know of any cases other than inchoate crimes where this distinction mattered?
