New CT law blog
Finally, some competition. There’s another CT law blog that’s burst onto the scene, posting about everything and anything. Creatively titled the Nutmeg Lawyer, the blog is written by Adrian Baron of some firm with an almost certainly non-Firefox compatible website.
I think Scott will take a liking to him (although, I don’t really think so, since Baron seems to be a fan of Avvo). The blog has been added to the sidebar.

Welcome to the Nutmeg Lawyer. This page was developed to share tips on law firm marketing, legal practice, office management and anything else that might peak your interest about the trials and tribulations of law practice.
Nothing peaked my interest. Absolutely nothing. I did get a chuckle out of his sidebar survey asking if I was a judge. I bet lots of judges hang out there, looking to “tips” on law firm marketing.

He hates twitter almost as much as you do. I thought you would bond over that.

I should probably mention that I’m not a big fan of Avvo’s rating system although I have see some pretty accurate ratings of sanctioned attorneys with caution markings. Otherwise, should a attorney in practice for 3 years have a 10 rating because he had his lawyer buddies from law school endorse him and a 20 year lawyer gets a 6 because he may not be as computer savvy.
I do use Avvo as a resource for contact info and to see how long another attorney has been in practice. I still think it’s a good idea to claim your profile to take control of what is being said about you.
With that said, I am happy to report that a judge did visit my blog. A beauty pageant judge, but a judge nonetheless.

Gideon, thank you for including my blog on your sidebar. As the new kid on the block, I appreciate the plug. My wife won’t even read my ramblings.
As to Scott not finding anything on my blog that peaked his interest, I find that highly doubtful. Surely he read my many thought provoking posts. I had a NY Times best selling author post on my blog for Pete’s sake. What’s this guy want from me? (I, in turn, found his blog very insightful after I got through this many posted AV rated accolades and blog awards).
As to Ryan’s dig about the lawyer/business consult thing…are we to do the cyber attack before or after
he plugs Solo Practice University, his fantasy baseball team or the Red Sox…
All in fun. See you in the trenches. Keep up the good work.

Where is this post on your website?
To compete with the new blog you’re going to have to add more advertising widgets to your site, lift more copyrighted images off other sites, and start doing the lawyer/business consultant thing.
If I ever do the lawyer/business consultant thing feel free to commence an all out cyber attack on my site.
