a public defender

This blawg is not an ABA Top 100 blog

Posted on December 02, 2008 by Gideon

The list is out there, but for the second year in a row, the ABA Law Journal (or whatever) didn’t see it fit to include this (or any other public defender blog) in it’s awards ceremony.

Frankly, with all the stupid videos I post, it didn’t deserve to be. So go vote for deserving ones, while I think of some posts that would make this into a serious blog that might merit some consideration in a an arbitrary year-end contest.

This blog is going on a lunch break. See you on the flip side.

Just remember what C.P.Snow, a novelist I sued to read said… “There are no distinguished men at Cambridge… they merely confer distinctions on each other.”

Awards are fine… bit in the finest British tradition of buying peerages… I like to buy mine… or just give them to myself!

I’ll join you on the flip side… I appear to be losing the plot with my latest tool for wasting truly fantastic amounts of time – a movie making tool. I’m doing episode 4 now for posting to my blog later.

Well… it is cold, there is snow in parts of the country, fog planned for tomorrow and then ‘heavy rain’ due for Friday… already do 12 hour days – so a bit of Twittering and other relaxation….. talking of which… I have just noticed that the big hand on the clock reveals it is 6.00 pm – time for a glass of burgundy or rioja.

It made me feel inadequate, though. Everyone gets an award, what am I doing wrong?

I like your idea of buying one, but unfortunately that’s not possible here.

I think the solution on the flip side is to drink lots of wine, so make some room over there; I’m bringing a case.

I think it may have something to do with your marketing plan. ;)

My staff tells me that your blog is on the very short list for at least one award.

Comment by Gideon

You know, that may be the ticket. I should start posting about marketing. Maybe market myself. Maybe market the ABA. That’s it!

Just market yourself. I want to read about what a great blog you have. Presumably the ABA does too.

The problem is they only gave 5 spots for criminal law blogs. You would have been #6, surely. Blonde Justice is on there under “quirky” (which they gave 10 spots to).

I think that makes me feel worse. Thanks BobbyF. I hate you now.
