I am so torn about this. And I’m not a lawyer, I’m just a person who was completely angry and appalled by Lori Drew’s vindictive and abusive behavior.

I believe she should have been prosecuted for child abuse. I also think it’s a travesty that Missouri had no laws on the books to prosecute her there.

Megan Meier’s suicide was the result of Lori Drew’s abuse of MySpace. Whether or not that evidence should have been admitted is something I’m unqualified to expound on, but there’s no question in my mind that Lori Drew should have some kind of consequence. I’m just not sure this is the one.

I have no sympathy for Drew, but this is a railroading unfolding before our eyes.

When Judge Wu ruled that the government would be allowed to introduce evidence of Megan Meier’s suicide, there was no doubt that the case would completely shift away from the crime charged toward the death of a poor 13 year old girl.

While I hesitate to feel any particular sorrow for Lori Drew, this was the travesty of bringing this case under section 1030 of the CFAA.
