2004: The Conn. Legislature restored probationers’ rights to vote, so I went Democrat.

2006: Moved to Jersey, couldn’t vote as probationers’ in Jersey can’t vote. Lose your rights just by crossing a state line

2008: Just finished up my probation and can finally vote in N.J.

The possibility that we came very close to becoming a one branch form of government with no checks and balances… Oh wait, I’m glad to see that common sense prevailed.

I wouldn’t condone torture in any case. Some people have common decency and a moral compass. There are some lines you just don’t cross. I deeply respect McCain, despite what other reservations I may have against him, for his stance prohibiting torture.
