Ahhh, California. The Stupid State? Meanwhile one man in California is serving 50 to life, virtually non-parolable, for stealing videotapes from two K-Marts to sell for drugs. The joys of three-strikes California-style where shoplifting is punished by life in prison but double homicide gets you 17 years — of which you serve half perhaps.
