I’m at least tentatively expecting that storyline to be picked up, in a future show, since it wasn’t in that episode. Even from my amateur POV, it seemed like a Big Deal.

Hmm. I totally missed that. It’s unfortunate that he chose to end that storyline in that fashion.

I don’t have any way of knowing how often, if ever, it happens in real life, but it definitely happened on the show.

I was in an elevator once going down to the courthouse lockup. In walked the enraged mother of a criminal defendant, who informed someone else in the elevator NEVER to use a public defender because they trade cases.

I formulated many creative responses in my head, but kept my mouth shut.

On the show itself: I think it has stopped being a legal show and has turned into a pure and simple drama that happens to be located in a courthouse.

Like CourtTV did?

BTW, if you ever get a chance, watch a Canadian made series called “This Is Wonderland”. One of the best Canada ever made – cancelled due to stupidity.
