I've done that in cases where the client (out of custody) had no or nominal background and if I didn't order the PSI ahead of time and lost the case, my client would risk bond being revoked, going into custody, and spending 30 days in custody waiting on a report to say...no priors,etc. an then getting probation. But they cannot be sentenced the same day, as there must be a PSR prepared after conviction and before sentence. And there has never been a female judge whose rulings invariably beg reversal, but who has enough juice to survive appeals with a remarkably low reversal rate. Hey David, who might that judge be? There is clearly room for improvement...as always, but it's good enough for me to recommend the show to others. I'm still sorta stumped by the bi-sexual clerk getting soooooo internally frustrated by the Judge claiming that "some" gay behavior is learned. He seems to think it's genetic....so where does that leave a bi-sexual person? Is there a bi-sexual gene too? I'm just confused by that whole storyline. Well…..I’ve given this episode a B+
