This is a novel concept in CT? In California there are a lot of “appearance” lawyers who don’t even have their own cases. They just go to pre-trials and trial setting conferences to appear for others. Usually a criminal appearance garners $100-200, but a family court appearance can get you around $500. Wish I had a listserv I could just look to.
