Everybody please watch this. This is the worst case of injustice you will ever see. It will break your heart. Also get Schapelle’s book from Amazon, “No More Tomorrows”.
I agree. I’m amazed. Sad. She should be out. Period.
Add to the fact that Indonesian “justice” handed down lighter sentences to people involved in killing 2002 people in Bali. Bastards.
I saw the documentary film and where is the injustice? There were drugs in her bag. She claims they weren’t her drugs but where is the proof that it isn’t hers or that she wasn’t bringing it for someone else?
If this were to happen in Australia with someone from a different country would they just say, “She sounds sincere, so they aren’t her drugs.” If she is innocent, then it is a terrible case, but why should we think from this documentary film that she is innocent? Someone at the airport planted the drugs? If that is the case, then why weren’t they removed at the Bali airport before she got her bag?
Maybe the drugs were put there by a family member? If this is the case, than she has an f’d up family and they should come forward, but no one in an f’d up family is ever going to do that. The fact is that even she admits that they were there and they were either planted or she put them there. There isn’t any proof that the drugs were planted; what is the court supposed to do? Let her go?
I think the death penalty is a bit harsh, but it is their law and the laws used to be much harsher in Australia and other countries. But just because she says she is innocent, doesn’t make it true. And just because her family says she is innocent, doesn’t make it true; if she is innocent, you still can’t say this is an injustice against her. They are trying someone that had drugs on them and the evidence is all against her. So where is the injustice?
You aren’t serious? The whole case was a sham and what about the baggage handlers at the airport in Australia? Something needs to be done about this? This is incredible.
The injustice lies in the fact that ignorant Motherf****rs like you don’t understand the concept of innocent until PROVEN guilty. She does not have to prove anything!!
Kind of suprising to see the comments like “Innocent until proven guilty.” She was charged with having ~10 lbs of ganja in her bag and everyone agrees she had 10 lbs of ganja in her bag including her.
This is pretty much the way things work. Think of it as our team vs. their team with their team being procecution/legislators. They want to move as much as posible from the “Innocent until proven guilty” to the “Prima Facie” side so they don’t have to jump through to many hoops. Not to feed the fire to much, but that is exactly why LAPD did it that way in Rampart evidence faking scandal. It works!
OK, moving on, she is guilty of having 10 lbs of ganja in her bag. The judges ask her to give a reasonable explaination of how it is not her fault. Her lawyers come up with one of the worst explainations I have ever heard in my life: Baggage handler-drug smugglers put it there to move from one area of Australia to another and misplaced it!
Her lawyers should have been given 20 years for such a lousy excuse! Later they appologized to the airlines and baggage handlers. This is just plain silly! Drugs never go unaccountable. Specifically when people like cocaine dealers have a mule swallow a shipment, they only use people with a family that they can kill if they get double crossed. Nobody would make a shipment that way! I mean the baggage handler on the other end could just say “It never got here” or “I saw the police take it off the plane” and pocket the shipment. What would the dealer do? Call a cop? “Hey, I was shipping 10 lbs of ganja and I think the guy that was supposed to pick it up on the other end may have stole it.”
It is sweet and quaint that most people don’t know the way drug deals or drug dealers operate. Unfortunately most judges are not sweet and quaint. Indeed hearing this explaination may have offended them more then anything else. It really is an insult to their intelligence.
So there you have it, a prima facie case with the judges insulted by the explaination. I would have been suprised if it turned out any other way.

Maybe you should watch the documentary again as it is so clear to me and millions of other people that she is innocent…someone was using her bag as a mule and failed to get the pot out before security. I believe the Bali officials also know she is innocent that is why they did not give her the death penalty….but did not free her in an attempt to save face for their faulty security systems etc.
I must say I am shocked at your ignorance to imply she may have a fucked up family…were you not watching how supportive and loving they are toward her. Do you think she or her family are stupid enough to check 10pounds of pot needing to go through 2 security check points before the final destination where it is common knowledge how strict drug traffic laws are…the answer is simple “NO”
They did not do it….clearly you not only missed the human compassion but also the common sense portions of the program….oh how about the part where the OZ airport busted other attempted drug traffic via luggage handlers….at the same airport….on the same day….did you catch that part or did that not penetrate your seeming ignorant mind?
You ask “where is the injustice”….and say “if she is innocent, you still cant say this is an injustice against her” I ask you, if someone planted drugs in your luggage, and you were arrested for possession and sentenced to 20 years in prison….how would you feel?
I doubt she’s innocent, and I don’t really have a huge problem with punishing drug smugglers, but compare this sentence to the people that had a role in the killing of 202 people, and it stinks.
How do I get in contact with the film maker, does anyone know? I’m a psychotherapist and a film make myself and interested in this case.
Thank you.
Know one would do try and smuggle that amount of pot into customs. She got set up no doubt in my mind (brother probably) and the customs wow that is terrible on so many different levels. This shows you how screwed other legal systems are, something should overturn this case. There is a crime her but i doubt it was here.
It’s evident that this woman is innocent! Unfortunately, by Indonesian standard of law, you are guilty until proven innocent! This country is not concerned about wrongfully finding someone guilty.
As an American I’m outraged! This could be any one of us. I think the best we can do is boycott Indonesia!
