Legislative session roundup
When the legislative session was gaining steam, I posted about the most interesting criminal justice bills. This weekend, I’ll find the time to compile a “what happened to these bills” post. In the meantime, you’ll have to console yourself with this awfully formatted Courant article about “winners and losers”. You’ll have to click on the link to read the blurb related to each winner or loser, but here is the list:
Winners:
James Tillman
Energy Reform
Plan B
Medical Marijuana
Jessica’s Law
Chief Justice Chase Rogers (?!?)
Immigrants (Children of)
Eminent Domain
Teachers
TV Personalities
and
Losers:
Budget
Health Care
Elephants
Gas Tax Cut
Teen Voters
Bottle Bill
Trans Fat
Sick Leave
Sex Offender E-mails
Open Container
Adoptees
Contracting Reform
It seems as though the lists are backwards. I would add defendants to both lists. They were losers because of the terrible “denial of access to evidence” bill I posted about and winners because the death penalty jury deadlock bill didn’t make it through (I’ll explain in a subsequent post).
