Browser poll
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
In the past I’ve had some trouble with making the site appear the same for users of IE and Firefox, so here’s a little poll to figure out which browser you guys use the most.

Why don’t you install a site counter that keeps track of this, like the one I use, which is free:
http://www.shinystat.com/en/
It shows nice graphs and here is an portion of who views my blog:
Visits %
Explorer 6.x 41.77 %
Explorer 7.x 28.78 %
Firefox 22.06 %
Safari 4.42 %
Opera 0.93 %
Mozilla 0.91 %
Explorer 5.x 0.50 %
Netscape 7.x 0.23 %
Unknown 0.17 %
Opera 8.x 0.08 %
Netscape 4.x 0.07 %
Explorer 4.x 0.03 %
Opera 7.x 0.03 %
Konqueror 0.02 %
Well, I wanted to distinguish between those who “visit” my site and those who “read the blog”. While visitors might happen upon the blog via searches or random links, the readers are the ones that come and leave comments and are repeat visitors. So I wanted to parse those out from the “Page view: 1; Duration: 0.00″ crowd.
You ought to have a section for “both” IE and Firefox. I use Firefox at home (where sometiems I read your blog) but my employer has blocked Firefox so at my work desk (where I read it almost everyday) I must use IE7.0.
You’re right. I didn’t think of that.
By the way, that absolutely sucks. Who would do that? Block a browser! Never heard of it.
It’s likely not a question of “blocking” in the censorious sense, but as a former IT person, I sure wouldn’t set client permissions (the network meaning of “client”) so that anyone in the organization can install software as they like. That’s a recipe for disaster.
Yes, I use Firefox at home, and IE at work. I second JesseINutah on that point.
